Children’s Horse Riding Holidays

Did you imagine you could be swimming with ponies or riding bare back or side saddle? We do it all - there is lots of fun and excitement to keep everyone happy, no one goes away disappointed. Many return year after year and bring friends with them. Evenings are filled with hot tub, videos, BBQs, trips to the local town, cinema and leisure centre. All children are fully supervised by qualified first aid trained and CRB checked staff and only allowed to leave the centre on organised outings.
Fun packed children's riding holidays are run throughout the year during school holidays. You can choose your dream pony to own and ride for the week, or ride a different one each day. All ponies need a lot of looking after, but don't worry as we show you how to groom, tack up and care for them. Most of your day and some evenings are spent in outdoor pursuits.
Your whole day will be packed with horse activities from 8am to 5pm. Everyone can improve - whether you are just starting out or wanting to fly around the cross country course as you will ride up to 5 hours each day.
There are daily riding and jumping lessons, hacks around Carn Brea Castle and along the Mineral Tramways. In the Mock Hunt the crafty fox has learned to ride a horse so chasing and catching him is great fun. The horses are also boxed to Gwithian Beach to enjoy 4 miles of golden sand and splashing in the sea. On another day the more adventurous amongst you can swim with their ponies in a small lake! Our enclosed arena provides the ideal environment for beginners as well as giving protection should it rain. Jumping is taught in both our indoor and outdoor arenas. To introduce you to cross country riding we have graded jumps in the fields suitable for all abilities.
Competition day
On our unaccompanied children's riding holidays our competition day includes a lively mixture of, show jumping, tack and turn out, (making your pony look super cool), dressage, handy pony (horse and rider agility and obedience course) and gymkhana games, all sections of the competitions are adjusted to suit your standard of riding and you can choose to join in activities as you wish. The competition is aimed to ensure everyone has a great day with a rosette to remember it by.
You will spend the week surrounded by horses and ponies and will make plenty of new friends - of both the two and four legged kind!
Your stay
· Weeks run from Sunday 1pm until Saturday 1pm (Please ensure you have had lunch on Sunday before arrival as there is no food available until evening meal, but lunch is included before departure on Saturday)
· Shorter breaks from 2 days
The price includes virtually unlimited horse riding, food and accommodation in 4 bedded rooms and a 6 bed dormitory for the young one’s, all within a large bungalow for the use of our guests only.
If you need a lift
There is no charge for collection from Redruth railway or bus station. Taxis can be arranged from Newquay Airport or Plymouth Ferry port
